War on Christmas Escalates

It appears that we have won this battle. I thank everyone for their efforts in contacting their congressmen; it did make a difference! That makes two victories this week along with blocking the omnibus spending bill. But we must remain constantly vigilant as it is clear that our values will constantly be under attack. Hopefully with the new Congress we will be able to block any further erosion of our rights and in 2013 begin the process of restoring rights (after we throw out the career politicians from both parties).

How do these regulators live with themselves?

A small-town bank in Oklahoma said the Federal Reserve won’t let it keep religious signs and symbols on display. Federal Reserve examiners come every four years to make sure banks are complying with a long list of regulations. The examiners came to Perkins last week. And the team from Kansas City deemed a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the teller’s counter and buttons that say "Merry Christmas, God With Us." were inappropriate. The Bible verse of the day on the bank's Internet site also had to be taken down.

This is a direct violation of 1st Amendment rights. The bank is supposedly quietly fighting this behind the scenes, but I, for one, am disappointed in their actions. They should leave the displays up and force the government to physically remove them - while being video taped for the whole world to see.

Please write your congressman and tell them to rectify this situation immediately.
