The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is trying to prevent Boeing from moving some of its operations from union-controlled Washington State to right-to-work South Carolina – solely to protect union workers! In response, Tim Scott (R-SC) has introduced a bill (HR 2587) that would prevent the NLRB from interfering with the rights of firms to decide where they locate their operations. This bill is about to come to the floor and I encourage you to contact your representative to support this bill.
The bill will allow American firms to become more economically competitive by ensuring that they have the right to make wise business decisions - and since Virginia is a right-to-work state, it will encourage firms to relocate to our state. Blockage of this bill will prevent firms from bringing high-paying jobs to America, Virginia and the 11th district.
On Monday, I issued a press release announcing my support of this bill and calling upon Gerry Connolly (D-VA) to support it as well. Unfortunately, Congressman Connolly still has not announced his position. Undoubtedly, the labor union bosses are trying to convince him to vote against the interests of his own district; we need to put him on notice that we are watching. If he receives enough calls in support of this bill, there is a chance that he will reluctantly vote for it. His office can be reached at (202) 225-1492.
