While the new Congressional district boundaries have not been finalized, it has become increasingly clear that I will be redistricted into Virginia’s 11th district. I view this as an exciting development, since the 11th district incumbent, Gerry Connolly, is likely to remain among the most vulnerable incumbents within Virginia. And like most of the rest of our Congress, Connolly has repeatedly supported massive increases in government spending since he entered office. The time has come for a leader who will apply common sense solutions to balance our budget while avoiding the partisan bickering.
As a result, I have now filed the necessary paperwork and will focus my campaign on this district. It appears that the new 11th district will include much of the Dulles Toll Road, I-66, I-95, and I-495 commuter corridors -- a region that I am very familiar with. In fact, as a traffic engineer, I believe I bring a valuable perspective to helping this region. A recent proposal for the exact district boundaries for this district can be found on my campaign website.
I look forward to this new focus, and I hope you will join me in my campaign as well as in the various campaigns for state office occurring this year. Some easy ways for you to help include:
